i don’t know about you, but if i have a jar of peanuts, raisins, chashews [anything that’s in a can and i can grab a handful of and throw it right in my mouth] i will eat WAY more than that silly “1 serving” which is usually a joke (2 tbs?? get outta town).
SO in order to not crush a whole jar of toasted almonds, i create little to-go trail mixes with all my favorite fixins’!
they’re the perfect amount, i can toss the mix into my purse and enjoy it during a busy day on the run or just snack on at work.
so here you go!
Taylored Trail Mix
(…had to throw that in there. ohh the ability to play-on-words.)
1/4C Slivered Almonds (whole almonds will work also)
1/4C Dark Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans
1/4C Sunflower Seeds
1/4C Raw Cacao Nibs
scoop 1/4 cup of whatever you want first!
you can use dark chocolate covered anything, i just like espresso beans for a little pizazzzz. dark chocolate covered almonds are redonkulous in there too!
continue to toss it in a bowl
..then onto the next snack
..mix it all up
then scoop 1/4 cup of the mixture and distribute into containers.
sooo you see how easy it is? 1/4C everything you love! yeah yeah, each “serving size” is different for each one, but then you have to spend like 30 minutes figuring out the math, distriuting perfectly evenly into each baggie or tupperware – and well that sounds awful. so i just guesstimate and toss in!
