say that 10 times fast!
peanut butter crunch chocolate cheesecake bars!
i mean there’s no other title i could think of that would truly describe the mouth-watering sweet-tooth curbing chocolate and peanubutter HEAVEN bars.
they have a crunch from the crust, filled with chocolate-y goodness.
they have the creamy and smooth texture in the middle from the cheesecake.
and the peanut butter and double whammy crunch at the top from the crumbled Square Bar.
i think i made one of the best desserts i’ve ever made.
which says a lot!
because lawd knows i love every single one of my desserts i share with you all like it’s my baby! like it’s the #1 dessert in the world!
so why do i think this one makes the cut into the top 5?
my husband is always the taste-tester for if the recipe goes ‘live’ or not because he’s pretty darn honest.
he went to go bite into it.. closed his eyes, did his little savor-the-bite thing and really taste it.
and as he slowly opens them back up, clearly not wanting to swallow the bite in his mouth i immediately think “bad?! really?!”
as he finally 30 seconds later clears his mouth… he simply says.
“holy cow. i love you, and all your desserts, but this one… is the best you’ve made.”
SO when i went to take pictures of it for this blog post… and got to dig in for myself finally…
i may have had 3 slices in a row.
aaaaaaaaand i may have then made another batch when the current one ran out.
these bars are THAT heavenly!
when Square Bar reached out to me asking if they could send a box of their new Square Bar flavor “Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter” to share my opinion of them and incorporate them into a sweet treat there was no doubt in my mind that this would be a deliciously fun task!
chocolate and peanut butter, wins every time right??
well sometimes.. i have had protein bars that claim they taste like peanut butter and/or chocolate and it’s super hard to decipher those flavors when you go to take a big bite with lots of hope for the outcome… whomp..
but i can easily say Square Bar DID IT AGAIN!
as with their other flavors (all of which i absolutely love) this one tastes exactly as it states.
heart-warming-sweet-tooth-curbing in a organic and non-gmo square!
winning all around ya’ll!
so have i ranted enough?!
have i gotten you SO PUMPED FOR THIS RECIPE?!
ARE YOU ALREADY DROOLING AT THE THOUGHT OF DIGGING IN?!
let’s do it to it!!!
Peanut Butter Crunch Chocolate Cheesecake Bars
2 Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter Square Bars (use code “iLikeMyFitnessTaylored” at checkout for 20% off!!)
12 Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Oreos
2 tbsp Organic Unsalted Butter (you can sub for organic coconut oil), slightly melted
1 (8 oz) Fat Free Cream Cheese, softened
1 scoop Peanut Butter Slap Nutrition Protein Powder (use code TAYLOR for 10% off at checkout)
1/2 cup Organic Plain Greek Yogurt
3 tbsp Egg Whites
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2-4 tbsp Gluten Free Chocolate Sauce (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
step 1: in a food processor (or blender) combine your gluten free oreos with your butter and process until well blended. cut out a piece of parchment paper that will fit right into your baking dish (an 8×8 baking dish would be perfect) then pour your cookie crust right into your pan and with the back of a spoon or your hands begin to press the mixture firmly into the bottom to create your crust. stick in freezer as you prepare the cream cheese base so the crust hardens up a bit.
step 2: in a medium bowl, combine your softened cream cheese, greek yogurt, egg whites and vanilla and begin to blend with a hand mixer (or stand) until smooth and creamy. then slowly add in your protein powder and continue to blend until fully combined.
step 3: take your crust out from the freezer and pour your cheesecake batter over top and smooth out evenly with a spatula.
step 4: stick your cheesecake into the oven and bake for 20 minutes. then after 20 minutes, turn your oven down to 225 degrees F. and bake for another 25-30 minutes or until the center of your cheesecake starts to golden slightly.
step 5: remove your cheesecake from the oven, and stick in the refrigerator to set for 5-6 hours, preferably overnight.
step 6: when ready to eat, drizzle your cheesecake with your chocolate syrup, chop up your Chocolate Coated Peanut Butter Square Bar and sprinkle all over the top of your cheesecake.
or 5 pieces.
whatever you shall choose, no judgement here!!
