usually i save the macros of a recipe until the very end of the recipe.
but ya’ll.. i just can’t keep these BEAUTIFUL macros until the end.
they’re just too damn good.
if you don’t “count your macros” i know you’re thinking uhhh what’s the excitement?!
if you count your macros… you’re gonna feeeeeeeeeel me on this one!
ready?! are you ready?!?!?!
The recipe makes 9 slices (big slices!)
i mean…………. LESBEREAL.
that low of carbs and HIGH of protein in BREAD?! winnnnnnnnnnnnning to the max!
ok ok recipe time! and are you thinking how the heck are these macros so low?!
it’s because of a secret ingredient.
an unexpected one! one you’re going to think “ew” that’s weird. but trust me on this one ya’ll… it actually makes the bread THAT much fluffier and dense!!
weird secret ingredient!
Protein Low-Calorie Bread
2 1/2 scoops vanilla (or cinnamon, i did a mix of both) slap protein powder (use code TAYLOR for 10% off, duhhh)
1 cup egg whites
1 whole egg
2 1/2 cups steamed and drained/”dried”(super important not to just plop the steamed cauliflower right into the bowl, soak it in a drainer for a little and dry off as much as possible)
dash of vanilla extract
*put oven at 325*
step 1: chop up that head ‘o cauliflower and steam away! then drain and dry.
step 2: in a big mixing bowl toss together cauliflower, whole egg, egg whites and protein powder. and a dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon!
step 3: at first….. i blended it all with a hand blender… and wellllllll as you can see from the red bowl mixture it didn’t blend so well, so i was like DUH.. pour it into a blender and that’ll do the trick. it did, and clearly it made a huge difference! ha! so BLEND your mixture in a blender, it’ll whip right up really quickly!
step 4: spray a bread loaf with coconut flour spray (or any nonstick spray) and pour your batter in! next time, i’ll definitely sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top!
bake for 35-40 minutes, or until it begins to “golden” along the top and edges.
enjoy hot right out of the oven, or let cool and enjoy! either way it’s DEEEEEELICIOUS! the toppings are endless, but i obviously chose peanut butter for my first bite of this macro-friendly HEAVEN.
want to make it later?! make sure to PIN it on Pinterest, since the link to the recipe is already in the photo for you!
