who doesn’t love a good ‘ol, warm-gooey poptart? and a peanut butter + jelly combo.. game.over.
i could live off peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.
when i was little, my mom would make me one every single day for lunch. she would always try to switch things up and make me a different lunch, but i was stead fast on the classic. and still am!!
i could also live off poptarts. lesbehonest, my list of “life off of” is pretty long, but you get the point.
butttttt the process-sugar, high bad fat loaded little pockets-of-goodness aren’t so good for the ‘bod.
SO a re-creation was much needed! and for the past 3 weeks, i’ve literally been eating 2 of these bad boys before the gym every day!
and the possilbities of “flavors” and combos is endless!
but today, i’m going to kick off this healthy pop-tart wagon with this classic!
Peanut Butter & Jelly Poptart
1 tbsp peanut butter
1/4 cup blueberries
1 tortilla wrap
step 1: lay tortilla open, spread PB alllllll over the middle
step 2: sprinkle blueberries. you could obviously use jelly, but the blueberries give a PERFECT added texture
step 3: fold right and left sides in slightly
step 4: fold top over then spread a little bit of peanut butter to the end of the tortilla facing you. the peanut butter acts as a glue so it stays put and “sticks” down
step 5: over a low-heated pan, plop that bad boy right on it. press down just slightly and let heat for about 30-40 seconds
step 6: flip and press down again for 30 seconds.
what are some good combos you can think of??!! I’m thinking MARSHMALLOW FLUFF next time!!! and chocolate? like a smores!!
want to make it later?! make sure to PIN it on Pinterest, since the link to the recipe is already in the photo for you!
