chocolate nut buttaahhhh
because nut butter & chocolate. are just meant to be together.
think of it like a hazelnut-nutella butter but without all the silly additives!
and you can whip some up SO easily!
as usual, you probably already have the ingredients in your cabinet. which is always a win when you come across a damn good recipe.
side note: i can never get over how nostalgic peanut butter can be. like the idea of pb&j sandwiches just make my heart happy!
am i the only one?!
also, another side note: when making fresh nut butter. it looks like a pile ‘o poo before you spread it out into it’s container.
Cacao Cashew Butter
2 1/2 cups unsalted, roasted cashews
3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
1 tbsp organic cacao powder
2 tbsp walden farms syrup (or honey or regular syrup will work too!)
step 1: toss those cashews right into your food processor. and process away!
until it turns into a powder
step 2: add in your coconut oil
make sure you melt your coconut oil
i used 3 tbsp syrup, because as you see above 2 wasn’t enough and it was a little dry. so just adjust accordingly. it all truly depends on how dried-out your cashews are. and mine were pretty close to begin stale… so yeah. ha!
step 3: scoop that ‘ish out and look at that beauty butter you created!
scoop out of processor into a bowl and check out that pile ‘o poo. just embrace it. there’s no avoiding it.
stare at it some more.
step 4: try not to eat a spoon full for each spoon full you put into your ball-glass….
and voila! you have fresh cacao cashew butter! which can be stored in the fridge or in your pantry. whichever you choose, it won’t last long.
