a new habit

happy FRIDAY!

i’m totally feeling the idea of continuing to introduce you to a new “habit” on fridays to begin putting to use over the weekend, so you can go into the next week strong with a new way to make a better YOU!

everyone like that?!

not like you have a choice…  😉

so today’s new habits to creating a better, happier, healthier you is:

making a green smoothie every single morning.  i know what you’re thinking, not everyone has the time to just whip up a smoothie while running out the door in the mornings.  that’s why i bring you the BEST habit to incorporate in your NIGHTLY routine to set you up for a good morning.   make your smoothie the night before, pour into a mason jar, pop the lid on and….. stick it in the FREEZER! brilliant right? when you wake up, head straight to the kitchen and pull it out.  then go about your morning routine, and as you’re about to head out the door, grab that smoothie and a straw and go! by that time, it will have thawed and ready to slurp down!  you can even make a bunch of these sunday afternoons while you’re doing your meal prep so you don’t need to make one every night, they’re all pre-made!

another tip, if you don’t want to pre-blend it and freeze, stick all of your ingridents you like in a smoothie into a zip lock bag, pop that in the freezer, then toss in blender in the a.m. and blend away! no need to even add in ice!

no excuses to not put your health first, and what better way to constantly START your day on a healthy note?  the better choices you make in the morning, will absolutely roll out into the rest of your day. you’ll begin making better food choices, and just feeling great from the inside out!

here’s some great smoothie recipes to give a try if you don’t know where to even start:

Breakfast Smoothie
a great meal-replacement one due to added protein if you’re not a big “breakfast eater”
2 cups fresh kale
2 tbsp algea
1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
1/2 cup berries
1 banana

Very Berry
2 cups fresh spinach
2 tbsp wheat grass
1 cups coconut milk, unsweetened
1/2 cups strawberries
2 dates, pitted
1 tablespoon cacao powder

Pineapple ‘Mojito’
(because it’s 5:00 somewhere)
2 cups kale
1 cups coconut water
1/2 cups pineapple
¼ cup fresh mint leaves
splash of lime juice
