don’t be one. either a potato or patato. a COUCH potato that is!

and if you’re going to be one, at LEAST make something of it… which brings us to today’s post!

you know that 3-5 (sometimes it feels like 15 minutes) break during your beloved Real Housewives of Beverly  Hills,  i mean… that super serious badass show you watch that’s also super educational?!  you usually just grab your phone and surf the internet, instagram, facebook, text, email, until your show grabs your attention back.  you know what you could be doing INSTEAD of getting closer to having carpal tunnel in your thumb?? MOVING.

i know i know, you’re already in your superman onesie pajamas, no judgement here, and you’re ready to just chill out.

time to get up and move.

so here’s YOUR challenge today: during your t.v. shows this evening, during each break get UP and do THIS!  grab your kids, your husband, your dog, anyone, and just get that heart rate up & make best use of that time!

TABATA STYLE!!!

a Tabata workout lasts only four minutes, which is PERFECT for commercial break, duh, but is one of the longest four minutes you’ll encounter and has to be set up like this, no more or no less of work/rest:

  • Workout hard for 20 seconds
  • Rest for 10 seconds
  • Complete eight rounds

you push that cute little butt as hard as you can for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds until you finish up those eight sets, which usually by that time your show is back on. WINNING! so if you have 10 commercial breaks that ADDS UP to alot of calorie burning.  double winning!

4 exercises, 2 rounds – Tabata but with a  TayloredFitness twist

20 seconds: Burpees
10 seconds rest
20 seconds: Mountain Climbers
10 seconds rest
20 seconds: Power Squats
10 seconds rest
20 seconds: Alternating Lunges
10 seconds rest

Repeat TWO times!!

Then plop that butt back on the couch, but be ready to GET BACK AT IT when that commercial hits!
